Monet found Beauty

Oscar Claude Monet was a French, Impressionist painter. It has been aptly stated that he was a driving factor for Impressionism. His fame is undeniable for it has stood the test of time. His painting technique required that he paint the same scene over and over in order to capture the change that was occurring as the day lengthened. He sought after beauty, and he was able to capture it, and share it with the world.

He practiced at “capturing beauty.” Sometimes we may not see anything beautiful around us, but as we practice capturing beauty, we will see, and eventually  perfect it.  If we practice capturing what is bleak, negative, or dark, we will perfect that as well.  We perfect what we practice.  It may take a while, but if we keep looking past the charred embers, past the negative atmosphere, past the hurts and pains of our past– we will find beauty.
